A typical O.E.M. application for our
MCNC series of products is this controls package used to control
this Fabrication shop punching machine with automatic back-gages
in the X & Y dimensions.
The primary use of this machine is
to perform punching on a wide range of metal thicknesses (50 ton
press) providing automatic gaging of a sequence of feature
locations. Easily programmed features include such things as
window cuts & bolt-hole circles. The machine is used in
general fabrication shops of all kinds & the ease of
programming & operation are primary features that reduce the
need for operator training.
The machine is especially useful
where a few to a few hundred of a particular part are required,
especially simpler parts or simple second-pass operations. This is
because of the combination of it's ease of set-up & ease of
operation. The simple-to use operator, control station, shown on
the face of the machine, allows ease of operation with minimal
supervision.
An off-line programming software
package along with the ability to up-load/down-load programs
to/from a separate computer is available.
The machine was part of an existing
design series which originally used a different to controller that
was too expensive & unreliable. Our MCNC020 controller PWM
servo drives, along with the PMT500 operator station has provided
improved operation & reliability which has driven the sale of
these machines into many situations, including many retrofits of
existing machines.
